Great podcast. CCS is a mess of a tech, for many of the reasons MacGregor went into, with only a few useful pure CO2 sources around. The one CO2 source that wasn't mentioned that might be useful is the limestone calcination reaction (for cement production) which does have a pure CO2 output stream, but current methods (natural gas combustion) for driving the reaction contaminate that output stream. Might be worth getting a cement/concrete expert on at some point to discuss that.

That photo at the top of your piece is NOT a smokestack. And that is not smoke. It's a cooling tower emitting water vapor, AKA steam.
